Kasia Hein-Peters
Director Strategy & Programs
Kasia Hein-Peters, MD has more than 30 years of experience in healthcare as a psychiatrist and a leader in top pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, and digital health startup companies. She oversaw the launches of several first-in-class medications, which profoundly changed the standards of care and a vaccine with peak sales of 3 billion dollars.
Kasia started practicing medicine at the age of six by experimenting on her teddy bear with a real IV drip full of water. She got both as gifts after undergoing minor surgery, because she was so fascinated with the medical equipment that she saw in a hospital and wanted to figure out how it worked. Over the years, Kasia developed expertise in bringing new drugs, vaccines, and medical devices to the market. She believes that innovation in healthcare matters only if patients have equitable access to it, as the treatment doesn’t work if barriers prevent its prescribing, administration, or acceptance.
Kasia lives in Las Vegas, NV and in her spare time explores the Mojave Desert with its beautiful mountains, canyons, and occasional ancient rock art. While hiking, she takes photos and writes haiku (Japanese short poetry), trying to express the moment through pictures and words. She calls these poems hike-u, from “haiku while hiking.”
